Overview

The objective was to design two distinct cordless hand blenders and their accessories that would introduce innovation to both ergonomics and user experience, while also elevating visual appeal on the kitchen countertop. The project required a fast-paced design sprint, from research to concept development, within a one-month timeframe.

Challenge

Develop two cordless hand blenders with clearly differentiated design identities
Prioritize ergonomic handling, intuitive usability, and aesthetic integration into modern kitchens
Ensure designs are both innovative and manufacturable within technical constraints
Deliver final concepts and visual assets within a condensed project timeline
Role & Responsibilities

Led the end-to-end industrial design process
Collaborated with engineering and marketing teams to align product feasibility with user needs
Produced detailed design documentation including 3D CAD models, product visualizations, and spec sheets
Result

At the end of the four-week design sprint, I delivered two fully developed cordless hand blender concepts that met all design, usability, and technical criteria. The project resulted in high-quality 3D models and presentation visuals that were well-received by internal stakeholders. The outcome demonstrated a strong balance between innovation, functionality, and aesthetic value, and contributed to the company’s ongoing efforts to differentiate its product line in the global market.

Key Contributions

  • Delivered design solutions that balance form, function, and manufacturability

  • Applied ergonomic principles and usability insights to enhance the user experience

  • Translated research and concept ideation into high-quality, production-ready visuals

This project highlighted my ability to lead a complete industrial design process—from research to execution—under a tight deadline. I applied human-centered design principles to enhance the user experience and used visual storytelling to communicate the value of each concept. My work successfully merged form and function, delivering practical yet visually engaging products that aligned with brand goals and market expectations. After many discussions and meetings with the engineering, design and marketing team, Blender A was selected because it met the production cost requirements.
