Hello!
I’m Elif, an industrial designer from Turkey. I'm currently a New York-based independent designer with over 4 years of experience, specializing in consumer electronics and appliances. I enjoy designing minimalist products that creates user-product interactions through form, touch, sound, texture and experiences.
I jumped into my career by working on two different projects —home security devices and glasses—at two different California-based start-ups, where I worked as an independent industrial designer. I gained multiple perspectives and experiences in various aspects of design, such as industrial design, user experience and mobile interface design, and visualization.
These opportunities fueled my motivation, and since then, I have collabrated with international clients on a range of project. At a New York-based company, I’ve worked on many appliance projects, applying my design skills to help them discover new perspectives and create value.
After my independent journey, I joined Arcelik/Beko/Grundig—one of the largest global design and manufacturing companies in Turkey—as an in-house designer. I worked on many home appliance and consumer electronics projects, including a cordless hand blender set, rice cooker, kettle, vacuum cleaner stand, an innovative project aimed at improving sleep quality, and several concept projects that pushed the boundaries of design.
Beyond my formal education, I’ve been enhancing my skills through in-person projects and continue to eagerly learn various design disciplines, such as 3D modeling, 3D printing, sketching, visualization, animation and UX/UI.
After working as an in-house designer, my desire to explore new perspectives led me to relocate to New York. I am currently collaborating and working as an independent industrial designer based in NYC while also working on personal projects that allow me to stay connected to the design community.
